The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo is a toxin-free protein shampoo that uses mild, low-lathering coconut-based cleansers to wash your hair with natural proteins from wheat and silk.
It is used to prevent hair loss, reduce itchiness, dry scalp, and dandruff without stripping the natural oils. This is a very gentle shampoo that is suitable for those with thinner hair or those who need to wash their hair very often.
The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo Review: Features, Price, My Thoughts
Most shampoos offer a thick lathering sensation, which many people enjoy, but doing so takes away the protein content of your hair. It leaves a layer of chemicals on the scalp, making it dry and limp.
So, once you begin using The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo, you’ll be well on your way to your first hair detox. After 4-5 washes, you should start to notice a visible change.
The good part here is that this brand has clearly provided this information without making misleading claims of guaranteeing smoother, shinier hair in the first wash.
In this The Moms Co Natural Protein shampoo review, I will go over:
- Texture and Consistency
- How to use it
- My final thoughts on whether this is the right shampoo for you
Let’s first go over the ingredients now to understand what The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo contains.
The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo ingredients include natural components and essential oils such as hydrolyzed silk protein and wheat protein, beetroot extract, and cleansers derived from coconuts. It has been dermatologically tested and is free of allergens.
The majority of natural brands do not mention all of their ingredients on a product, and some disguise the preservative used under inactive.
The Moms Co. brand on the other hand, stands out in this regard, since they are entirely open about the contents of their product. It is clearly printed on their package.
If you look closely at the contents, you could get the impression that it includes a lot of chemicals. However, it is merely the chemical name of the ingredients obtained from natural materials.
For instance, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl glucoside, or Coco-glucoside, while sounding chemical-lish, are safe and healthy ingredients to use in a shampoo.
These substances are all-natural and produced from coconut oil to cleanse and smooth hair fibers.
Enough with the ingredients, let’s now see how the packaging of The Moms Co. Natural Protein shampoo is.
The overall packaging of The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo and Conditioner is excellent in my opinion. They come in a white plastic bottle with an easy-to-use top-mounted pump dispenser.
The pump features a lock mechanism that, when turned clockwise, locks the bottle. When you turn it anticlockwise, it unlocks the dispenser. As a result, there is no risk of the product spilling, making it an excellent choice to carry in your travel packs while on vacation.
It’s user-friendly, has all the product information, is packaged in an outer card box with an info sheet, and, most importantly, the pump works perfectly till the end.
Now that we’ve been impressed with the package, let’s discuss the fragrance of The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo.
One of the characteristics that define a good shampoo is the beautiful fragrance that comes with it. A good-smelling hair can completely change your mood and give a great kickstart to your day.
To be honest here, I’m not a fan of the fragrance of this product. It has a very faint strange odor that makes you assume you’re washing your hair with soapy water. Although no harsh chemicals are used, the scent did not appeal to me much.
The smell is not overbearing, but someone like me who prefers a heavenly after-shower hair scent would not choose this one.
Moving on, let’s dig a little further and look at the consistency and texture of The Moms. Co Natural Protein Shampoo.
4. Texture and Consistency
The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo has a light and more flowy consistency. It has no color. It is transparent and clear because it contains neither silicone nor sulfate. The shampoo does not foam or lather. As you can see it has a runny gel-like feel.
After looking at its consistency and texture, let us learn how to use The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo

7. My Thoughts: The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo Review
The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo did not perform exactly the same for me as advertised. However, it did work at first, but not to the point that I would suggest it as the best on the market.
So I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for a couple of months now. It may take three to four washes to see the effect at first. While your hair is detoxing, you may experience some hair fall too. Need not worry. However, if you continue to have excessive hair loss, you should stop and look for a better alternative.
If you are someone like me who enjoys a lathering-rich experience, this is not the product for you. The packaging instructs you to use 2 to 3 pumps of shampoo, but you will certainly need more.
With thin mid-length hair, it took about 5 pumps for me to wash my hair without oiling each time. And if your hair is oily, you’ll need to use twice as much to thoroughly wash the scalp. So that’s not very cost-effective for me.
But I do notice a significant improvement in my hair fall, which was minimized and felt a little voluminous. However, without conditioner, it becomes dry at the ends and tangled. To keep it manageable, a conditioner is necessary.
Ultimately, the fact that it has a drying effect and does not add much shine to my hair prompted me to switch to another shampoo.
The Moms Co. Natural Protein Shampoo is average in my opinion. This product is definitely not recommended for people with oily or thick hair. It has varying effect on various hair textures. Sadly, this is not the best option for me.
Someone with thin, regular hair may give it a shot and let me know how it goes in the comments section.
